Here's what happened on Day 1 of the Halo World Championship once the dust settled after 16 matches were played. Renegades had a stellar showing during Day 1 of the Halo World Championship, taking down both Evil Geniuses and Team Infused.
Here's what Victory X had to say about their initial success. The moment we've all been watiing for is finally here! Check out our breakdown of the teams in Group A at the Halo World Championship.
Find out about them, and don't miss their trash talk for CLG! Events ESL One Cologne IEM Melbourne Cloud made a nice push to get themselves 25 points until CLG gains total control to win the game and look vicious running around the map.
I hope game 2 is more of a match, I hope Cloud 9 does not fall apart and comes through to make this a great match. Second map up is Slayer on Regret and CLG has great momentum on their side.
Slayer requires a little less coordination so this is going to be a better type for Cloud 9. Cloud 9 is coming out strong with a lead over CLG and thats is exactly the rise I want to see out of Cloud 9.
They are using map control to dominate CLG in slayer on the small map of truth. Cloud needs to keep the pressure on to try to keep CLG at bay.
CLG is coming back it is , Cloud needs to at least keep going 1 for 1 to keep the comfortable lead over CLG. Their lead has now been shredded and it is tied at i cannot believe the resilience of CLG, they are trying to assert their dominance and Snakebite for CLG is controlling the power positions and allowing his team to get mobile and come from the flanks.
CLG is now up largely due to Snakebite having heads up plays and holding the line for his team and landing every shot he takes. Cloud 9 has fallen out of the match as CLG puts up their wall trying to show their true colors.
The team is comprised of four of the best slayers in the building and its no surprise that they are taking these matches strait home with shutouts.
Lethal had double the assists of any other players in the game and could be a key reason that CLG got back into this map. Final score being and Cloud has been demoralized heading into the last map feeling uneasy.
Coming up is Capture the Flag on Fathom and the last map was crucial for Cloud and they will now have to play flawlessly to pull this match out against this monster team.
CLG is again coming in aggressive and its working. They have gotten the flag cap on their first push and have been controlling the camo and the railgun to really play the game at their pace.
Cloud overextends trying to make a play and CLG drops the team once again to get the counter pull a few spawn kills, and you guessed it, another flag cap.
Hysteria is trying to make plays for his team as these young bloods are showing the veterans their place. Cloud just cannot get themselves coordinated here on the main stage, they cannot control any weapons or utilities to help them get into the game.
I fear its become too late for Cloud but they have not given up as it is showing a lot of heart here in the final rounds of their tournament.
They are leaving it all out on the field today and their gameplay shows it. They have held on for 8 minutes without allowing the final cap but they have not been able to get a push to get themselves a score.
CLG is dominating and finally eliminates Cloud 9 with a final flag capture and finally taking this downhill match home for their team.
Lethal showed dominance in top mid to to help lay down fire and cover his team mates while they complete objectives.
CLG looks to be the dominant team in this tournament and it would surprise me if they did not end up in the final round.
Next up we have Immunity vs FaB Squad. The map is CTF on Fathom and Immunity is coming out to play objectives and not worrying about defense which allows them to steamroll the FaB with a quick flag capture.
Their style of play is paying off as they continue to roll over their opponent with another flag capture in two minutes and FaB has been demoralized and the first map of the match was the fastest of tournament at Immunity walks the final flag across to secure the victory for their team and move themselves on to the second map of Slayer on Colosseum.
This map is more evenly matched for the Fab Squad as the match starts out in favor of Immunity. FaB tries to control the rocket spawn and the top middle to keep the opponents in the bottom to land easy team shots to dominate the moment.
Immunity is controlling the match with a comfortable lead of 8 kills and they are very calm, collected, and working as a unit to sustain their lead through the match.
Kimbo for FaB has the sniper and is trying to rally his troops to get his squad back into the match as his team grabs the rocket for him and gives FaB a small push in kills to put the score at in favor of ImmunityImmunity comes out with the triple kill to negate the power weapons and to help secure their lead to Immunity brings the game within 5 at and the game looks to be in their hands as Kimbo is trying to make plays with the sniper at long range with the cover of his team they secure 4 uncontested kills to put this came closer but game two ends up going to Immunity after they find Kimbo and the sniper to lock up the win for the team.
Next up we have game three on Empire we have Strongholds and another chance for FaB to show their true colors on the third map.
This could be the final map of the match if Immunity can hold strong and take the win. Immunity comes out with the first two caps and the match bounces back and forth by teams playing defense to try to build pressure until Seduce comes up with a triple kill to help secure the bases and get the lead of FaB needs to use the top catwalk and over shield to try to control the pit if they want any shot at another map against Immunity.
FaB is finally showing life by getting 2 bases and manage to get the third to try to get a rally going. They need to focus on getting slays in order to set up an objective move.
FaB is putting together a huge rally for FaB and brings the game to , Immunity manages to take the stage back with two bases into three bases and they put the team in full swing and try to hold the triple cap for a period of time by forcing the opponents to spawn tower.
His efforts come up short as Immunity grabs the triple cap and they lock up the gam e We just saw Immunity push this team out of the tournament with a wipeout of to save their skin in the double elimination bracket of the tournament.
Ninja for Renegades is on a spree in 2 minutes until he is finally taken down. Renegades is not letting up at all as they hold the neutral stronghold for a 70 point run.
Renegades is using the momentum so Allegiance cant get anything going and Renegades has total control and they skunk Allegiance with textbook play cycling on the strongholds.
In just four minutes the most kills in the match was 13, so the team spread the work evenly and rotated perfectly throughout the play.
We now have Slayer on Regret, and Renegades has a perfect start using their movement skills to beat Allegiance to the overshield and the fuel rod which allows them to start Naded is a legend for Allegiance and he is not letting his team go down without a fight.
Renegades answers right back by controlling the top of the map with ElTown getting 3 kills for Renegades and the score is Renegades.
They are using their communication skills to watch each others back and rack up assists for the team.
Spartan for Renegades up top with the DMR was a crucial part of their success in the second half of the map. The score is now as they are fired up and dominating their opponents in this part of the tournament.
Renegades brought the intensity to as they jump fired up as the final scored is , Spartan for Renegades was utilizing the overshield every chance he got and just trying to stay alive making conservative plays with the fuel rod to set the pace of the match.
Allegiance is going to try to slow the game down on Colosseum Capture the Flag, but Renegades looks too strong. If they plan to advance in the tournament Naded and his team need to get the rockets, get the sniper, and not overextend on this crucial match in the quarterfinals.
Renegades comes out strong on the first capture in the first 35 seconds of the game with a surprising stealth capture as Ninja controls the rockets and the scattershot trying to get involved in some close range combat.
Allegiance needs to control their base and then push out, very rarely can a team push from the opposing base. Allegiance starts to take control from the sniper side and that is exactly what they need to do.
Stellar for Allegiance is using the sniper rifle efficiently for the unit as they are staying together and using the sniper cover to pick off easy kills.
Naded is making great plays for Allegiance and is trying to keep them in this game but Renegades got four down and the flag is pulled for an easy flag capture as they go up with 5 minutes remaining.
Allegiance gets a flag pull for a capture 20 seconds later to tie and they answer back with another flag capture in to tie Next capture wins as Allegiance fights for their tournament life with three minutes remaining as they come to life late in this matchup.
Its so intense with 2 minutes remaining as flags are getting pulled left and right as both teams try but fail to get the flags home. One minute remaining as Naded pulls the flag for Allegiance and gets the last second victory for Allegiance by capturing the flag to assert their dominance here in this matchup.
What a play! Renegades is upset as Allegiance says they want to play more! They are fired up now as they fight for their necks as Naded the legend is fired up and carrying his team on his back here to prove himself to Renegades.
Theres no bigger place for Naded to finally show the world that he can take the title. We have Strongholds on , and Naded gets the rocket with a combat evolved medal and get 2 kills to start the match off for Allegiance.
Allegiance is using camo overshiled and rockets in control to triple cap and get the score to They are on fire and have brought the intensity from the previous match to map 4.
Renegades answers back with a triple cap to get the score to and they are trying to maintain map control and keep their opponents down.
Renegades manages to tie the match at as they show no signs of slowing down as Allegiances lead has crumbled and they are trying to take the neutral stronghold leading to a triple cap as they regain the lead This game is crazy as Allegiance holds the triple to as Allegiance extends the matchup to a game 5 as they tie the matchup They are amped and they have done the unthinkable!
Slayer Plaza and this game could go either way! Naded is on fire as Allegiance is up by ten slowing down the pace of the match and trying to maintain control.
Renegades get within 4 at as they have trumped the lead of their opponents as they are in control of the sniper rifle. Allegiance is up by 8 again at as they have answered the call.
Naded rightfully puts the game in his hands as he leads his team to victory coming back fro a deficit and Renegades is going home! What a comeback from Allegiance.
They have just announced that a Battle Rifle Mega Blocks Trophy will be awarded to the MVP of the tournament, would be a true honor win or lose.
My Gamertag: v Deception. The day is finally here, Day 1 of the championship is underway. Chosen Squad vs Allegiance was the first matchup.
I missed the first match for class, but I caught game two of Team Liquid vs Team Excel. Liquid Dominated the first map of CTF They used superior map control and great plays by Ace for Team Liquid to push Excel back into the spawn helpless to watch the score go up.
Next map is Slayer on Colosseum. Heinz For Liquid played the main slayer role and controlled the railgun to pull away from the start.
Excel had an uphill battle from the start but did not give up. Heinz had a beautiful play with the scattershot, he pulled a bounceshot around the corner to save his team mate and get his squad amped up.
There is never only one of team liquid they are always using teamwork to dominate Excel. The final map of the match was Strongholds on Empire. Again Heinz comes out gunning as teamleader by controlling the map without overexteding.
He continues to amaze me with the perfect accuracy. The match ends up for Liquid, their communication and teamwork are outstanding. Its like the players are a mind in one its truly amazing to watch if you can understand whats actually at play when the teams are in position.
I would recommend watching the series if you can its a great watch. Up next is a game of the losers bracket. Team Excel vs Chosen squad, its going to be a good game to see who will be out.
First map is Capture the Flag on Colosseum. Chosen Squad pulls back to back flags and catches Excel with their pants down putting the score with 8 minutes remaining.
Team Excel then secures rockets and uses them to get all four Chosen players down and got a flag pull and made it all the way to their base and then a team shot comes out of nowhere to save the flag and get the return.
Riotz uses the scattershot for a solopush for the flag and Riotz get a great flag slam to get their first cap. Chosen squad comes through with the final flag cap.
Excel just lost too many gunfights to make plays and get in position to set up for the flag cap. Its not over yet though Excel is eager to try to turn the match around on map two Slayer on the Rig.
Chosen squad is gonna go with a strategy in which they get the sniper off spawn and find their setup in bunker to slow down the game and shows no risky business.
The match starts off much closer it is and Excel has not given up yet. The listen in to the communication in this tournament is epic. The teams talk nonstop relaying information at the speed a gamer that is used to this would not be able to process.
I love the chemistry between these two teams. Thirty seconds later a huge play is made by Dany Knight ro bring the match to Excel.
Riotz is keeping his team diligent playing slow trying not to lose their lead. The match ends up Excel but Chosen Squad went on a 7 kill run when Excel had 49 so these next maps should be tight.
That makes the match tied in the losers bracket. Next map is Stronghold on Eden. Excel comes out dominating positions Snakey for Excel is coming out making huge plays controlling catwalk and helping Riotz secure overshield.
Excel is up by 23 at this point and Snakey cannot be stopped on top catwalk.
